There's still a lot of uncertainty about the long term stability in Liberia with the runoff election between Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Winston Tubman coming up on November 8th.
One interesting development in the past week is the Prince Johnson has thrown his support behind Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Prince Johnson came in third in election results with just under 12% of the vote, so his support could very well sway the runoff in Sirleaf's favor. Interesting point to note about Prince Johnson is that he's also a senator from Nimba County, so he has and will continue to affect politics in Liberia. Even more interesting in a macabre kind-of-way is that Prince Johnson was a warlord during the Liberian civil wars who took power after watching his fighters torture and kill then President Samual Doe. There is even video of him drinking a beer as he watched his fighters cut off Doe's ear. Looks like he's hoping to solidify his influence in Liberia with his support of Sirleaf and enjoys his self-proclaimed title of "Kingmaker."

There's also been some threats towards those in the media who are covering the election. This could have a significant impact in a country where misinformation easily sways popular opinion.
