Due to the quick response of many to the emergency need for donations to feed the children at the Daniel Hoover Children's Village and the Oscar and Viola Stewart School for the Deaf in Liberia, Christian Adoption Services was able to send funds in less than 24 hours from learning about the need. The children will have food until the end of the month, at which time we will send the regular sponsorship monthly funds and evaluate if there is a need to send
additional emergency funds.
While it is discouraging to be reminded that peace in Liberia is very fragile and there is so much at stake, this situation is also a great reminder that God's extravagant love knows no constraints. Thanks to all who allowed Him to work through them to display this.
"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had." Acts 4:32
Please be in prayer for Liberia on Monday when there is a scheduled funeral rally planned by opposition supporters for those who were killed in the pre-election violence on November 7th. There have been some reports of plans for violence during the rally. On a positive note, more influential people in Liberia are continuing to stand behind the elected government of Sirleaf and are calling for an end to the opposition. Hopefully, those who are angry in the CDC will take their grievances to the courts and not the streets as they see more and more Liberians refusing to settle their disagreements with violence.
